So I have been in a dress making mood for the girly's. I even bought fabric for dresses for me. I just have not taken pics yet so check back soon to see them. I am quite proud of myself. I never thought that I would be doing that.

More Chunky Watches
I love these watches. I have never been a huge fan of bracelets, but I love these. I think the biggest difference is they are made by me and they fit me how I want them to. The picture above has all the watch bands that I have made. The newest ones are the complete silve one and the brown one with the smaller brown beads.
I am going to get started on making necklaces and earrings. So those are to come. If you know of any place to get good instructions please let me know because I have no idea what I am doing but I am sure that I can figure it out.

Girl Dresses
Here are a couple of dresses that I was having a hard time making by myself so I enlisted the help of my mom. We used the tutti fruity line from Joann Fabric (they were amazing priced this spring). It is a sear sucker material.
The only other piece of clothing that I have made was for 4-H when I was really young (12 ish).
I used this McCalls pattern and this McCalls pattern. If you like these dresses don't buy the pattern until it is on sale for 99 cents at Joanns it will save you tons of money. I had a really hard time understanding them so if you have any questions let me know cause I am now a pro at it.
The first skirt could be longer for my DD and the dress is way to big (like 2 sizes). So I am going to remake them to fit better. Oh and I would highly recommend that you make some bloomers or bootie shorts for your DD if she is anything like mine. Lets just say she is far from being a lady yet :)
Another Applique Baby Car Seat Cover

Don't you just love this blanket/car seat cover. I do. My mom and I made this one for my little sister who had her baby last week.
If you just adore it go on over to my etsy shop and you can get the kit for it.

All Things Baby Sling
So lately all my posts have been in relation to baby somehow. Hmmmm I wonder why. Maybe its cause I love all these different things for baby but can't stand to pay full price because I know that I can make it....or at least figure out how to make something similar.
A few years ago a friend of mine had a baby and she was wearing this piece of fabric to hold her baby in. It seemed like a really good idea cause the carrier that I had for DD #1 hurt my back cause it did not give enough support. My husband did not mind it but I could not stand it. So when she would not stay in her car seat for shopping or whatever I was carrying her. Not to convenient at times.
So with this baby I decided to make this sling. It is so easy to make. There are several different posts out there how to make it but I used this one. Technically I did the no sew fabric but I still serged (well my mom did during my week of recovery at her house) around the edges for a nice finished look. I gave my sister the other half cause she finally had her baby a couple of days ago. I don't know if she will use it, but I hope so.

Kuffi Beanies
For family pictures earlier this week I decided that we all needed to wear some beanies (well it started with the girls and then hubby wanting one 2 so I just made one for all of us).
My hubbys hat is not the pretty pink but brown. I was surprised how excited he was to get his own hat.
I have not seen the family pictures yet. We are supposed to get them by this weekend and I am really excited but until then you will have to deal with my lame photography. I am not sure where I got this pattern at. Somewhere on the web but if you know tell me so that I can give credit for it.

More Applique Flower Baby Blankets
I love, love, love doing these blankets. They come together so easily and they are just so much fun. I have listed a couple of these in my etsy shop.
These are more girly blankets, but my mom recently did a couple that are green and yellow and have John Deere Tractors in the squares. It is so cute for a boy blanket. I am also thinking about makign a cowboy one. I just need to find the time to do so. Time is hard to come by now that I have a new little one, but I still seem to be able to find time to do a few things.

Car Seat Cover

When my daughter was first born my mom and I were walking through Walmart with the Cream Flower blanket over the top of my car seat. I did not want people to see that my baby was only a couple of days old and I wanted to keep her as safe as possible from germs etc.
People were stopping and staring at the car seat and asking if I made it. It gave me an idea to convert the blanket into a cover for the car seat and later the blanket will be used in the stroller and whatever else suits our fancy.
I love how it turned out and have listed a pattern and kit in my etsy shop.

Minkee Blankets
Minky is a really fun fabric to work with and my daughter just loves it.
I made a minky blanket (I will post the pics later) for my new baby but my older DD loved it so much that she took it. So I decided to let her pick out what she wanted for her blanket. She picked out the bright green. I totally thought that she would pick blue cause its her favorite, but she didn't.
We had my neice with us when we picked out the fabric so I told her that I would make her a blanket, so the pink and brown one is for her.
And the Green paisley is a smaller blanket for my DD for the car cause she always wants one with her but I hate her taking her big blankets with us and her smaller ones are just too small to cover her toes and her head.
If you have any questions about how I made the blankets feel free to leave comments or if you just love the blankets I would love to hear from you.
