Pleated Headband

Today I am going to show you how to make a fun and beautiful Pleated Headband. This is the same headband I made for last Fridays blog swap if you missed it.

I love a pleated beautiful headband.
Super easy to make plus it looks really great
Heres how to do it:
You will need a hot glue gun, a headband, ribbon (I used satin 5/8). I would use ribbon that is wider than your headband for a cleaner look

Line the inside of your headband with ribbon

Now start pleating the ribbon. Do it by hot gluing it down as you go.

Then when you get to the end of the headband cut the ribbon about an inch. Fold it over hot glue to the inside of the headband.
Look how awesome the headband looks. It looks great by itself.
Or even better with a pretty flower

Check ME Out Saturday Week 18

A Vision to Remember

Holy cow! There were over 100 amazing links this week. Later today I will showing you some of my favorites! I just have a minute to get this up and going for you all, so make sure to keep an eye out for the spotlights...

So go ahead and link up your projects. Make sure the link goes directly to your blog post and no spamming please.

Check me out Saturdays

I'm super excited to be here at A Vision to Remember! This is my first

blog swap and who better than to do it with the great Bobbie!

Her's is one of the first blogs I started following. She always has great

ideas and fun parties!

A little about me. I'm married to the man of my dreams. He is

my special helper on a lot of the hair brained projects I come

up with. Occasionally he's finishing them up as I drag myself to bed.

I have 3 daughters 11, 10 and 9 (yes it is as exhausting as

it sounds, ie. DRAMA) and a beautiful 18 month old boy.

I come from a very crafty family, but have only found my crafty gene

in the last few years. I discovered blogging about

4 months ago, and I'm hooked!

I started my blog Mommy Time Crafts and

have been going crazy ever since. I call it

mommy time because that's what I tell my kids when I send

them to bed and they ask WHY? Because, I NEED

MOMMY TIME

On to the Tutorial:

4th of July Rag Wreath

I know it's a little early to be working on 4th of July

decorations, every year July rolls around and

I have nothing to put out and no time

to get anything done

Besides, I REALLY want to start Halloween and Christmas crafts,

but it's too early to do that, right??? (maybe next month)

This was a very easy inexpensive project I came up with

for our family craft night. We try to get together every few

weeks and eat food and craft.

I bought this fabric at Wal-Mart really cheap. Each wreath was about $6.

If I were to do it again, I would go with more VIVID colors,

although this matches perfectly with my house,

my front door is a burgundy color, and

it doesn't stand out as much as I would like.

Snip your fabric every 1" and rip into strips.

Then cut the strips at 6". I used about 1 yard

total, from 5 colors, for the wreath.

Take some wire hangers and bend them round

Tie the strips around the hanger in a single knot.

Squish it together as you go and fluff later.

This is my first attempt:

I was able to squish the strips together and fit a TON more fabric

Making it a lot FULLER.

I love how it turned out. It took me about 6 hours because

of all the gabbing and eating. Probably should have only

been about 1 hour. But that's what makes

crafting so much fun, right!!!

BUT WAIT....THAT'S NOT ALL

If you do this craft in the next 30 minutes, we'll throw in this

Bonus Craft - Separate Shipping & Handling may apply

(Don't you love those commercials?!?

Even my kids always say "But Wait")

Fire Crackers

for your table

I cut a 2x2 into 4", 6", and 8" lengths

Paint, glue on wick, wrap and you done.

Great kid craft, neighbor gift, anything

My cousin's version:

Aren't they beautiful? She's way more artistic than me.

Well, it's been great visiting over here at Bobbie's Blog. Come on over by

Mommy Time Crafts and join in some of our fun.

There is going to be some fun giveaways in

the next few weeks.

Matters of Business

I was featured on Blue Cricket yesterday. Did any of you see it?!? I am so excited I can't even stand it! Then this morning I opened up my email and I was at the top of the Tip Junkie Giveaway Guide. You have no idea how much I wanted to scream but waking up the kids was not really an option!

Oh and Blue Cricket Designs is hosting a giveaway for me. Its a big one so make sure to head on over there and enter (plus there is a coupon)

Then Oopsey Daisy posted 3 of my tutorials. So excited and grateful for that one. Also, I will be guest posting in her neck of the woods for baby week so keep an eye out for that one.

Then, today I have been doing some blog cleaning. I got rid of all those annoying google ads and will now start to do advertising. For details you can click on the link below my header. (or email me at boblyns at yahoo dot com)

I think that was it for now. If not I will definitely keep you all updated! Have a great day and watch out for the next blog swap tomorrow. It is a good one

Rag Quilts on Etsy

I have been busy here working on rag quilts. Not a whole lot of crafting, but definitely busy. Here are a few of the blankets that I have photographed. I have another stack needing handles for car seat tents and another stack needing clipped and washed...Its a never ending cycle.

I. Love. It!

Turquoise, Brown, and Cheetah Print crib size quilt. I also have a car seat tent matching this. I just have not gotten it photographed yet.

This is a fun hawaiian print in orange, blue, and yellow. It is also a crib size quilt.
This is a picnic size blanket for the 4th of July. It is so much fun for this summer.

The pattern that I used for all of these rag quilts can be found here in my etsy shop

So a little about me~ My Name is Jennie Larsen I have been married for 10 years to Kevin my best friend. I, LIKE most of you, LOVE TO CRAFT. I am a mother of 3 children~ 8, 4, and 18 mos. I love being a mom, and when the diapers are changed, the dish washer is full ,the laundry is still piled high on the couch, and the kids are all snug in their beds.. I LOVE TO get my Craft on. Crafting is a huge outlet. I remember as a little girl all the crafting painting, gluing, wreath making, and sewing my mother did as I grew up. It must run in the fam.

Today I will show you just some of the things I have made. PLEASE I would be so flattered if you came by my blog CraftOManiac.blogspot.com and checked more out, or become a follower ;). Why CraftOManiac?~ WELL' Because I am a MANIAC FOR CRAFTS HA!
I will show you A TASTE OF SOME OF THE CRAFTS I HAVE MADE~

Here is a Burlap wreath I made. Crafts are great for so many reasons. One thing I love making is a craft decor item I can use in my home.

Here is a cute Primary Craft my sister and I made from recycled baby food jars, as well as cutting flowers out using my cricut.

Here are some mod podged napkin covered Styrofoam balls I made. I love Damask and I put these in a cute apothecary jar, as well as a large basket on my coffee table.

Here is a wood mod podged Napkin Letter "E" for Easter or Eggs for the Easter Holiday to set next to the rest of my Easter stuff.

Thanks so much for looking, Again I would love to have you come by. THANKS AGAIN Bobbi!
